How To Use our Flavors on Coffee [whole bean and ground]:

Use a strong unscented clean plastic bag [13 to 35 gallon depending on how much coffee is being flavored] or food grade bucket [recommended to use one bucket per flavor].

Add 1 oz. of flavoring for every 2 lbs. of coffee [coffee should be room temperature and degassed].  Can be poured or sprayed into bag/bucket.

Shake/agitate thoroughly to ensure flavoring coats all of the beans/ground coffee. Keep away from heat and light and let sit for 30 minutes [about 1 hour for ground coffee]

If flavoring whole bean, keep in mind that the grinder can adhere flavoring, so clean thoroughly to avoid cross contamination of the flavors. Flavoring already ground coffee can avoid this issue.

How To Use our Flavors on Tea:

For Large Scale:

With the loose tea in a mixer/bin, slowly add the flavor while the tea is continuously tumbled.  After all the leaves have been exposed to the flavor, the tea should be spread out on a clean, dry surface for drying.  Allow to dry for 10 to 20 minutes depending on the quantity of tea being flavored.

An alternate method for larger quantities is by spreading the tea leaves over a clean, dry surface.  Then using a manual or electric sprayer, spray the leaves evenly.   Allow the leaves to dry for 10 to 20 minutes depending the the quantity of tea being flavored.

Following both methods, we suggest putting the flavored, dry tea leaves in a covered bin or container [preferably HDPE plastic or stainless steel] immediately after the 10 to 20 minute drying period for a day or two to fully develop the combined aroma and taste.

For Small Scale/Lab Sample Productions:

Using a bowl/beaker/canister [preferably glass or stainless steel] add half of your total amount of tea to the full quantity of flavor and blend thoroughly.  Add the remaining tea and then blend thoroughly again.  The blending may be performed with a mixing spoon or your hands [using powder-free latex gloves]. Allow the leaves to dry for 10 to 20 minutes.

If hand blending we suggest wearing two pairs of gloves as some flavors contain essential oils and chemicals that can penetrate latex and could cause skin irritations.

How to Figure Out How Much Flavor is Needed:

For coffee the recommended dose using our flavors is 3%.  Take the amount of coffee you want to flavor and multiply that amount by .03.  The total should be approximately how much flavor you will need to flavor that amount of coffee.

At the recommended dose of 3%, 1/2 Gallon of flavor [our 4 lb. minimum] will flavor approximately 128 lbs. of coffee.

For tea the recommended dose using our flavors is typically 4%.  Take the amount of tea leaves you want to flavor and multiply that amount by .04.  The total should be approximately how much flavor you will need to flavor that amount of tea.
